Faith, the substance of things hoped for
What Scripture says about faith — its definition, its source and its quiet, everyday practice.

Hebrews 11 is sometimes called the “hall of faith”. It begins with a definition:
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1
Where faith comes from
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17
This is one of the quiet reasons a daily verse can matter. Faith grows by hearing — a little at a time.
Walking by faith
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7
Nothing impossible
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Luke 1:37
Faith as a gift
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8
