Building a daily Scripture habit with one verse
A realistic, five-minute rhythm for reading Scripture every day — no reading plan or early alarm required.
By Random Verse Editorial ·

Big reading plans often begin with enthusiasm and end in February. A single verse a day is smaller, but it is something you can actually keep.
A five-minute rhythm
- Reveal a verse — or choose a theme that matches your day.
- Read it twice, once quickly and once slowly, aloud if you can.
- Notice one word that stands out and ask why.
- Carry it with you: copy it into a note, or download the image card as your lock screen.
Anchor it to something you already do
Habits stick best when they are attached to an existing routine — the first coffee, the commute, the moment before you open email. The verse of the day on the home page changes at midnight, so it is always waiting.
Let randomness surprise you
There is value in reading what you would not have chosen. Leave the theme on All now and then, and let the draw introduce you to a passage you have not met in a while.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105
